William's Story

For various periods over the last 30 years, William has been at the mercy of violent and abusive staff members and psychotropic drug pushers in hospital psychiatric wards.

The photo below shows a beaten and bruised William earlier this year.

Just some of the brutal and inhumane acts done against William over the last two years--most of them by hospital staff as verified by visitor and patient witnesses--include strangulation attempts, blows to the head, nose, eyes and body, kicking, threats, ridicule, intimidation, coercion, isolation, fondling, over drugging and forced Haldol injections, and frequent denial of phone and visitor rights.

Staff have beaten William, dragged him on the floor, burned him with a cigarette, bit his fingers, stuck his head in urine, and beat his head against the wall. They treat William like a worthless animal and use him as a guinea pig in their psychotropic drug experiments.

As a result of these horrible acts, William has blindness in his left eye, hemorrhaging, blocked breathing passages, frontal lobe damage, thrombosis of the heart, kidney/liver abnormalities and pains, difficulty walking, severe stomach pains, weakened lungs, frequent headaches and migraines, and dizziness--not to mention mental and emotional trauma.

Once a successful businessman, William now describes himself as "a shell of a man." Patients like William are released periodically from the hospital in an over drugged state (to keep patients subdued and compliant), so they have difficulty functioning normally in the real world. When they try to get off the psychotropic drugs, they experience cocaine- or heroin-like psychotic withdrawal symptoms, which drive them back to the hospital again for more meds. The only winners in this hopeless cycle of drug addiction are the hospitals, staff and drug companies.

If this kind of treatment disturbs you, it should! This lawlessness and injustice must stop! There have been over 50 violations of law in William's case alone, and his case is not uncommon. The President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health, which released their long-awaited report on July 22, 2003, found America's mental health system to be "in shambles" and "broken."

A friend of William's has reported these atrocities to local, county, state and federal agencies, but none have resulted in justice. This friend has also approached lawyers but none have been willing to take the case.

Here is how you can help:

bullet

Pray for William's protection and release, and that he would be able to successfully withdraw from the meds. Pray that God would give him strength to endure this suffering and that he would not give up hope.

bullet

Pray for God to raise up a truth-loving lawyer who is willing to take this case to the highest levels of authority. Also pray that the agencies would drive their investigations to a conclusion and bring these staff members to justice.

bullet

Pray for protection and strength for William's friend, who is standing up for righteousness and fighting for William's life.

bullet

Send this web page to others to show them what is going on behind the friendly facades of our nation's mental health system.

Hospital staff turned away family and friends from visiting William last Christmas day (most likely as a cover-up), and they will probably try to do the same this year. Let's pray William receives a miracle this Christmas.
