Exposing Psychology, Exalting Christ January 2004 |
We hope your new year is off to a blessed start. If you were to ask God what resolution He would like you to make for 2004, what do you think He would say to you? Do any of these verses from God's Word speak to your heart?
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." John 15:4
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
"Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." Galatians 5:16
"...one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" Philippians 4:4
"Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving." Colossians 4:2
Try memorizing one or two of these verses and making them your own this year. Then, when New Years rolls around again, you can reflect on how God used these verses to impact your life in 2004!

Update on William - Urgent Prayer Needed!
In last month's issue, we told you about William, a once successful and fully functional businessman who has been put into the mental health system against his will and overdrugged and abused for the last 30 years. Read about his current condition, his potential transfer to a "dead end" facility, and efforts to get President Bush involved in reforming our broken mental health system.

If we see a doctor to heal the body, a teacher to learn to read, a pastor to learn the Bible, a lawyer to get legal advice, and a financial planner to handle our finances, then why shouldn't we see a psychotherapist to help us with our mental and emotional problems?
