Exposing Psychology, Exalting Christ April 2004 |
This month's issue highlights a milestone in the fight against deceptive drug company marketing and careless antidepressant prescriptions: the FDA's request of drug companies to place suicide warning labels on their antidepressant products.
Also in this month's issue, we discuss the biblical position on and practical realities of obtaining counseling degrees, certifications and licenses to counsel people in the church.
We have also included links to a free email devotional called "Day By Day By Grace." We believe this devotional will bless and edify you as much as it has for us.

In late March, the FDA strongly recommended that drug companies place detailed warnings about possible suicidal side affects on their labels. The drugs in question include Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Celexa, Remeron, Lexapro, Luvox, Serzone and Wellbutrin. Read more.

Study Shows Many Christian Psychiatrists Leave Bible at the Clinic Door This shocking study from the New York University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry implies that 50% of Christian psychiatrists would not discourage a religious patient from an abortion, homosexuality, or premarital sex, and a full 66% would not discourage a non-religious patient from these sinful acts. Could pleasing clients and making money be more important to some "Christian" psychiatrists than helping them repent and offering them God's remedy in Jesus Christ? Read the details of the study. http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/abstract/148/1/90
