Update on William

Thank you for your prayers for William, a once successful and fully functional businessman who has been put into the mental health system against his will and overdrugged and abused for the last 30 years. As many of you know, we have been praying for God to raise up a truth-loving lawyer who is willing to take William’s case to the highest levels of authority.

We are still waiting for an official response from the high profile and well-known law firm who has expressed interest in handling this case. If the firm takes on the case, we could see potential media coverage that will help expose the atrocities occurring at this psych ward and others across the country. We hope that more awareness will result in the creation of tougher laws against patient abuse at these facilities.

Please continue to pray for this law firm to take the case.

By God’s mercy, William has been transferred to another ward in the hospital. In the first ward, his roommate knocked William unconscious from multiple blows to the head. Nothing was done to discipline this roommate. Instead, William got lectured about not fighting and received forced injections against his will.

William is not an isolated case – he represents the state of our mental health system: precious souls locked up in abusive, anarchic environments and pumped full of dangerous, numbing psych drugs.

William’s friend knows some patients who have been there for over 30 years, and the friend estimates that 90% of the patients in this hospital are on psych drugs. Published statistics from a neighboring mental hospital show that one-third of the patients have been there for 20 years or more. Another 15 percent have been there at least 10 years. So almost half of all mental patients at this neighboring hospital stay for at least 10 years! This data gives convincing proof that psychotherapy and psych drugs are not the answer to society’s mental problems. These people don’t get better; they merely get band-aids that never heal the wound but rather cause more infection.

If this is the case, then why are some church leaders and "Christian" psychologists who already have the answers in the Bible still performing psychotherapy and recommending psych drugs to their congregations? Many in the world see the ineffectiveness of psychology—then why does the church embrace it so strongly?

Nevertheless, we do have hope that God will use William’s story for good in the future. We praise God for His faithfulness and goodness toward us, and His working of all things—both good and bad—together for the good of those who love Him and who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Please continue to pray for:

bullet

God to give William strength to endure suffering and that he would not give up hope.

bullet

William to get detoxed from the numerous psychotropic drugs he takes daily.

bullet

Protection and strength for William's friend, who is standing up for righteousness and fighting for William's life.

bullet

Church leaders to reject the emptiness and futility of psychology and return to sole reliance upon God and His Word.

For William's sake, send this web page to others. Reform of our mental health system starts with us.
