Update on William

Thank you for your prayers for William, a once successful and fully functional businessman who has been put into the mental health system against his will and overdrugged and abused for the last 30 years. As many of you know, we have been praying for God to raise up a truth-loving lawyer who is willing to take William’s case to the highest levels of authority.

The high profile and well-known law firm who at one time expressed interest in handling this case has since declined, stating that it would require too much time and money to defeat the hospitals responsible for William’s abuse.

The psychiatric doctors at William’s hospital recently overdosed him with Risperdal (an antipsychotic) and Depakene (a mood stabilizer), two very potent drugs with dozens of side affects, including liver damage and even death. Psychiatrist Peter Breggin characterizes the affects of Risperdal and other antipsychotics as "a chemical lobotomy" (Your Drug May Be Your Problem, p. 77). William stopped breathing from the overdose and was rushed to the emergency room and placed in intensive care. Fortunately he revived and returned to the psychiatric hospital, but William continues to get abused and beaten by hospital staff and other patients daily.

Efforts to get him out of the hospital have failed because his drug withdrawals are so severe once released. Thirty years of psych drugs have made him so dependent and addicted that he needs constant monitoring of his drug intake. The doctors will no doubt continue to force-inject and overdrug William with extremely dangerous psychotropics in order to control and pacify him.

As we mentioned in previous newsletters, William is not an isolated case – he represents the state of our mental health system: precious souls locked up in abusive, anarchic environments and pumped full of dangerous, numbing psych drugs.

William’s friend knows some patients who have been at this hospital for over 30 years, and the friend estimates that 90% of the patients in this hospital are on psych drugs and dependent on "the system." Published statistics from a neighboring mental hospital show that one-third of the patients have been there for 20 years or more. Another 15 percent have been there at least 10 years. So almost half of all mental patients at this neighboring hospital stay for at least 10 years! This data gives convincing proof that psychotherapy and psych drugs are not the answer to society’s mental problems—they plain don’t work. These people don’t get better; they merely get band-aids that never heal the wound but rather cause more infection.

If this is the case, then why are some church pastors, church leaders and "Christian" psychologists who already have the answers in the Bible still performing psychotherapy and recommending psych drugs to their congregations? Many in the secular world see the ineffectiveness of psychotherapy and the dangers of psych drugs—then why do some in the church still embrace it so strongly?

Please continue to pray for:

bullet

God’s mercy upon William and protection from abusive staff and patients.

bullet

William to draw near to God and see Him clearly despite his clouded head.

bullet

Protection and strength for William's friend, who is standing up for righteousness and fighting for William's life.

bullet

Church leaders to reject psychology’s solutions and return to sole reliance upon God and His Word.
