Graduate Student Sees the "False Religion" of Psychology

Reader Letter, 11/28/04

From what I have read, I found [Psychology Debunked] to be affirming developing suspicions that I have about this so-called "science".  Furthermore, I've found the book to plainly outline how and why psychology is in fact a religion and how, by its very nature, contradicts God's design and plan for our spiritual, emotional, mental healing.

I am a former police officer of both San Antonio and Austin, Texas, and before that a correction officer with the state.  Although my work performance would argue otherwise, I began to feel that my impact as a police officer was seemingly insignificant, and to some extent meaningless.  My experience revealed that prisons, jails, probation, community supervision, more legislation, and more police aren't the answer to societal woes.  Recognizing this, I hoped that pursuing a degree in psych would make me employable in a position that would help me to address, what I believed to be, the source of these problems.

This is my first semester in this program, and as I've been studying, I repeatedly find myself in conflict over the distortions of truth, which are being embraced and taught by this "science".

As I near the end of this semester, I'm praying that God will reveal His plan for me.  What is becoming abundantly clear, associating with a false religion is not a part of that plan.
