Is there a link between juvenile/adult violence and antidepressants?

Question:

In reading the latest articles on the horrendous side effects of anti-depressants, I remembered that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the perpetrators of the Columbine massacre, were on anti-depressants.

Has anyone ever researched the possible link between juvenile/adult violence and anti-depressants?  I’ve wondered for a long time if there wasn’t a link between Harris and Klebold murderous behavior and anti-depressants.

Answer:

We located a very comprehensive and well-researched article linking school and workplace shootings with psychiatric medications, and included it in a prior newsletter. Here is the excerpt from the newsletter (March 2004 issue):

Murder Sprees Have One Thing in Common: Psychotropic Drugs

Is there a link between school shootings and other senseless family and workplace massacres, and psychotropic drugs? A pastor from Texas has compiled a list of mass murders, including the Columbine tragedy, that leads one medical doctor to conclude, "...virtually all of the gun-related massacres that have made headlines over the past decade have had one thing in common: They were perpetrated by people taking Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Paxil or a related antidepressant drug." (Dr. Julian Whitaker, M.D., "The Reason Behind the Madness") Read the full article at
