Reader comments on May 12th Dr. Phil show on OCD

Reader Letter, 5/12/05

Thought you might be interested in hearing Dr. Phil did a show today that featured OCD. Interesting how they had "experts" on the show. How can you be an "expert" of something you can't prove exists? It was interesting to hear one "expert" discuss this "disease" and recommending the various drugs that are available. If you're interested in checking it out, go here http://www.drphil.com/show/show.jhtml?contentId=3120_OCDnightmares.xml

My first marriage broke up because my wife supposedly suffered from OCD. But one psychiatrist suggested that she was manifesting these symptoms because of immaturity. My ex-wife was furious and continued to contact different psychologists until she found one who agreed with her and she's been in treatment ever since. It's been 20 years. From my observations, it is a condition brought on by extreme selfishness, which according to the bible is a sin.

Anyway, thought you might be interested in checking it out. Keep bringing us the truth about these so-called diseases. God bless.
