Q&A

Question:

I am a grad student in psychology and am looking for a job in the San Diego area.  Christ is the center of my life and I want to do his work.  I have a large amount of debt to pay because of years of schooling but I know God will work it out.  I was wondering what type of work you are doing now.

Answer:

It sounds from your email like you are reconsidering your career in psychology. We have spoken to others who were in your similar situation. But they were able to still use their education in psychology--just in different but related fields. The world will generally see a psychology major as someone who is good with people, and understands people. Many jobs that are not mental health-related require these traits. We're confident that God will lead you in your career path as you seek Him for guidance.

I, too, had (and still have) a large amount of debt on my student loans. But God has honored my decision and taken care of our financial needs. Since leaving the field, I am now a stay-at-home mom and God has graciously given my husband Ryan a position that allows me to do this.

God will certainly bless you when you do what is right in His eyes.

We commend your decision, and know that God will still use your degree in ways you couldn't imagine!

Love in Christ,

Lisa Bazler
