Reader Letter 12/24/05 Your book has made a very strong impression on me & recently I had to take a stand on some of the very issues you cover within those pages! You may recall my husband had been very ill… At the same time grandson was undergoing extreme stress, having been confronted with our mortality -- we're his only family support system & we are very close. I was the sole caregiver and surprisingly found I was all alone in that role -- but that's another story. My exhaustion was beyond measure & responsibilities unlimited. While at church one Sunday I broke down crying & went to the foyer to sit rather than disturb service. The next day I had a call from an associate pastor -- long story short: "You need to get yourself under control. You need to see a psychiatrist, dont you think??" Need I tell you what that did to me??? My immediate response to this man was to bind & rebuke satan & I told him JESUS is the GREAT PHYSICIAN, and the only "doctor" I need. I told him HE is my healer, deliverer, redeemer, my counsellor & HE restores my soul, and HE raises me up when I am down. I told him this was a spirit of deception they'd allowed to come into the church & I rebuked it in the name of JESUS! He was stunned & stammered well, he just thought he was being helpful and that I should see the church Christian counsellor. I told him I knew this very counsellor recommends Xanax, Zoloft, Lithium & Paxil to church members & does so with gusto & then refers them to a psychiatrist who attends the church. Without hesitation I told him either we uphold the WORD of GOD -- that JESUS is ALL WE NEED -- or we don't! He stammered & did not know what to say other than he thought he was just being helpful. At that I told him be very careful of the spirit of deception & that psychiatry & drugs are just that! We've already had one suicide in the church family (she was on Paxil) & a multitude of kids labeled ADD/ADHD, etc. What a deceptive spirit has entered the church. My Bible says GOD is our redeemer, savior, deliverer, healer, the light to my path, HE's my restorer, my comforter, my guide, etc., etc., etc! Nowhere in THE WORD do I find any reference to popping a pill & getting over "it", nor do I find any directive/guide telling me to turn to anyone other than THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!!! It is my intention to get the word out to our Christian community in the new year & to do so using your book. I intend to refer many, many people to it. You have both done a very great work between those pages & I truly believe it was at the lead & guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT! There are real words of discernment & wisdom on the pages & a whole lot of education for those willing to learn & to be inspired by being turned back to THE WORD OF GOD!!! All this to say thank you for taking the time to write the book -- & for your support & encouragement during our trials. Thank you for taking the time to work so diligently on such a serious cause & for those individuals whom you don't know! Now that's dedication & a true ministry!!! Together we will defeat the devil!!! Blessings to you dear friends! Internet
Editor’s Note: Here is another letter we recently received from a pastor who was also deceived like this woman's associate pastor, but fortunately for him and for those to whom he ministers, he “saw the light.” 2/20/06 I really want to read your book. As a recovering Christian psychology nut, and ex prozac paxil user I am very interested in what you have to say. I am almost ashamed to say that I am a Baptist pastor, but I am convinced that all of this Christian psychology makes people nuts, I have seen the light and believe that Philippians 4:6-8 will give us the mental and emotional health in Jesus that we need. I truly believe that the Bible (King James), gives us all we need in this life to become mature and useful servant of Jesus. Pastor, Internet
