Dear Friend, Welcome to the December issue of the Psychology Debunked newsletter. Have you ever noticed that the Western world's solution to every problem is to treat its symptoms? Multi-billion industries and the entire medical establishment in this country is built around treatment of symptoms. A more common-sense approach would be to ask, "Why do I have this problem in the first place? What caused it?" When we find the root cause, we can fix the problem. In Jesus' ministry and in the Word of God in general, we see God bypassing the "symptoms" and shooting straight to the heart of the matter. In fact, the heart is where most of our problems originate in the first place (Matt 12:34-35, 15:19). The Bible tells us that no one knows our hearts better than God does, and nothing can penetrate it like the Word of God: | Hbr 4:12 | For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. |
| Psa 44:21 | Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. |
| Jer 17:10 | I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings. |
Instead of looking to the world for help with our symptoms, we can look to God and His Word for help with finding and dealing with the root cause. He will show us the real problem if we do it His way, as the reader in our Letters section discovered. Omaha Mall Shooter on Psych Drugs The school and mall shootings continue as 19-year-old Robert Hawkins mowed down eight people in an Omaha, NE mall before turning the gun on himself. His mother stated in an ABC News article that by age 5 he was taking Ritalin for ADHD and Zoloft for depression, but told Diane Sawyer she "did the best she could." Broken home + losing job and girlfriend + a bad diet + psych drugs since age 5 + four years of "treatment" at a psych ward + recently taking antidepressants (according to friend Shawn) = a ticking time bomb that exploded into the worst mall shooting in U.S. history. more » Hannity's America Links Antidepressants and Violence Doug Kennedy lays out the history and the studies exposing the clear link between antidepressants and shooting sprees in this powerful YouTube clip from Hannity's America. Watch them » Vaccinations: Another Drug Company Hoax We're told to vaccinate our kids to prevent infectious diseases. In the 80s, the CDC recommended 10 vaccinations. Today, we pump children with over 30 vaccinations before age 2. But are we causing more harm than good? These articles from the Generation Rescue site describe how the vaccine push is industry-driven and can actually cause neurologic and immune system disorders such as autism and diabetes. The articles also show that vaccines are historically practically useless in preventing disease, since most major diseases were eradicated by better nutrition, cleaner water and improved sanitation methods before the related vaccine was introduced. For convincing arguments against vaccination, and how you can legally refuse to vaccinate your child, see this "User-Friendly Vaccination Schedule." Earlier this year, a Generation Rescue-funded, third-party study done on 17,000 children in California and Oregon found that vaccinated boys are two and a half times more likely to have ADHD, Aspergers and Autism that unvaccinated boys. more » Psych Drug Side Effects From Real Users Listed Thousands of people taking psychiatric drugs who have experienced side effects have reported their awful experiences to the FDA's Adverse Event Reporting System.
