Subject: [wildestcolts] Feeling like an alien
I joined your group here because I don't believe in the drugs and
labels that are flooding this country, this world, really.
We began to homeschool our children 15 years ago because individuality
was against the social law, because government schools were encouraging
junk eating, because docs were getting into bed with schools, and on
and on. Now we find that the homeschool groups are not the same as they were 15
years ago. We are aliens everywhere now. The new homeschoolers are so different
from those of even a decade ago. These new ones are so conformed to the
mainstream. It's sad.
I cringe as other homeschooling mothers say things like "My daughter
was playing with a neighbor child who was 2 years younger than herself,
so we took her to the doctor and she was diagnosed..." or "my son had
so much energy, so we took him to our doctor and he was diagnosed..."
Is there no escape from this garbage? The poor children.
When I was a child, I did most of the things that these mothers are
drugging their kids for. My generation was lucky. We were probably the
last group of kids that were safe from the psychiatric industry.
I don't know what I'm asking, other than how do you find people in your
area who are against this evil monster?
We are closing on
our house in 20 days, and we seriously discuss a
major move every night. There are no groups here in Birmingham, Alabama
that we can become active in for this cause. Everyone we encounter is
on board with big pharma. Is there a problem with our searching methods
or would we need to move to really get involved? We don't want just
online involvement, we want local involvement. Please don't tell us to
start something. We're looking for an already established group
somewhere.
We feel driven to
get involved.
Thanks,
Clare

RE: [wildestcolts] Feeling like an alien
Hello Clare,
I was homeschooling for quite a number of years and most of them were spent
when I knew the truth about the psych drugs. I was actually on them for over
a decade, finally saw how they actually CAUSED the supposed mental illnesses
they claimed to treat. I tapered off all my drugs. It took over 4 years;
years of absolute Hell I can tell you. 18 months after that, I was pretty
well and decided to go back to college to pursue a degree. That ended when I
opened my mouth about some of the problems with psych drugs. This idea sent
the nursing faculty into an all-out effort to try to fail me even though I
was a 4.0GPA student, humiliate me every chance they got, run me down, make
my life utterly miserable, tell me what a louse I was, laugh when I answered
questions in class, subjected me to dirty looks, even called me a liar, etc.
all in front of other students until I was so emotionally distraught I had
to withdraw.
I belonged to a reformed church for 5 years, and thought that if any group
of folks would 'get it' these folks would. No, didn't happen. I gave the
Pastors and Elders a copy of my story one day, told them I would be happy to
answer any questions they might have, and was given the silent treatment, as
far as any mention of what I wrote. My story is here:
http://www.BenzoSupport.org/debra.htm
I only had one friend left after my ordeal to get off the drugs and get
well, and am missing a few family members who felt that I should shut up and
take my drugs. After all, a DOCTOR prescribed them!
I was in a Homeschool support group at one time but to tell the truth, after
the church's response, I figured it was a lost cause to bring up the
absurdity of mental illness and the crime of drugging people for FEELINGS
they might dare to have.
I did try to reach out to the ladies in my Bible study one day. Here is how
it went. We were going around the table asking for prayer. One lady said she
needed prayer because she was not feeling well. She said her doctor had put
her on estrogen and Zoloft and she felt worse but couldn't figure out which
it was making her worse. I told her that I had researched quite a bit on
psychiatric medications and that these drugs could make some people feel
worse, especially if they were building up tolerance to the dose. She went
off on me! No kidding! Started defending her stance of taking an
antidepressant. I had made my comment very quietly, very
non-confrontational, thinking is she acted interested, I might offer her
more information. But, she was like everyone else I know pretty much. They
do not want to hear that what they are doing MAY not be ok. She sure didn't.
She only wanted to hear, "You poor darling; of course, it is not the
medications. You must have a mental illness that needs attention here." That
is what most people want. Truly, it is. I have seen this time and again.
Most people will refuse to believe they are not truly SICK. "Having a
problem you need to work out with the Lord, or with your husband or your
therapist, oir whatever" does not sound as appealing and attention-getting
as "I am a poor sick thing. My doctor says I have MDD and PD and SAD; maybe
even some Bipolar tendencies. Don't you feel sorry for me? I will be like
this all my life so you must wait on me hand and foot."
So, I guess you may want to stay where you are. I know plenty of Christians
and plenty of homeschoolers but I know few people will give up the mental
illness and drugging that follows. If you read the Unite For Life website,
you probably saw how Melanie's parents still believed in a system that took
her daughter's life. Most everyone in this country still think that Andrea
Yate's killed her children, not the drugs or the doctor who Rxed them. Even
though she was under a doctor's care for years, the husband was still
blamed, she was blamed, family was blamed, everyone was blamed for the death
of those kids except the doctor and the drugs that killed them.
You might join and post to this group:
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Parents-Against-TeenScreen
See if you make any connection there that would lead to anything.
I think they post here a lot though, so don't know if they know any
on-the-ground groups but it is a shame that we can't find each other since
we know some of us are out there.
You might also post to Craig's list.
Other than that, I don't know. I have thought about putting an ad in my
local paper, asking if people who are having problems with psych drugs want
to meet. My purpose was to hand them the information for their doctors on
how to taper off the drugs. But you may think about trying your deal,
looking for like-minded parents who..
That one friend I mentioned who stuck by me in all of this, lives up in
Minnesota. She was a homeschooler (kids all grown now) and she believed
everything told her about the drugs and ADD farce, etc. I now run a group
that has over 3000 members, getting off psych drugs but, hard to believe,
many of those still hold to their 'disease.'
Godspeed, whatever you do. Feel free to email me off-list at ( kds94 @
Suddenlink . net ) anytime. Leave out all the spaces. I have some books you
may be interested in. Not to sell you; just books that you and your husband
may want to read if you haven't already found them.
