Reader Letter
October 8, 2008
I have been a fan of your for years I believe I learned about you at a Pastor's wives conference. Things sure were different then.
Three of the women I work with in the
small office, of all Christians, are taking some kind of psychological
medication. I try to be gentle and talk about trusting the Lord. I just
gave your book to a dear friend who has had her daughter on drugs for
years. This... woman is a complete mess and continues to get into lots of
trouble. She is currently on probation in place of going to jail. This
young women her parent say "does much better when she is on her
medication." I could go no and on. People get angry at me and tell me I am
legalistic and everything else. I really get discouraged.
But your update information is
encouraging. Sometimes I fell I am the only one who is not taking
anything. My current Pastor was a pharmacist. He is a great man of the
word but he does believe in medication. So keep up the great work there are
many more Christians on drugs than you would think.
Dear Lisa and Ryan,
I had lunch with an old
college roommate yesterday who's been "diagnosed" with severe depression
and bi-polar. She was obviously medicated. The Lord gave me courage
and boldness and His love to tell her "the other side of the story".
Praise the Lord! Most people only her the pharmaceutical side of the
story, unfortunately. I tried to give her a copy of your book but she
refused, to my dismay. Get this. Her psychiatrist is my old Bible
Study Fellowship's (BSF) teaching leader's husband! In fact, he has
been a leader in the men's class as well. Isn't it just amazing how
even those that are in the Word can be so blind to the truth and fail to
trust in the sufficiency of the Word?
Thanks again for all you are doing! You are truly leading the way. November 2, 2008 Thanks for writing!... I've decided that I need to be strong and of a good courage when facing the goliath's of the world. I've tried beating around the bush with people and, alas, it doesn't work because they have no idea what you're talking about. Lol. The deceptions are so thick, their ears so dull of hearing, that you truly have to speak up when speaking the truth in love. I recently listened to the CD's Ryan did and they were great! And, I've been so encouraged to see you quoting from the KJV in your newsletters. I've learned so much more from the Bible since I started studying from the King James. It's been truly amazing. Well, keep up the good work because your work really encourages me to speak up to all those around me who are bound by the false religion of psychology.
