Welcome to the February 2009 issue of the Psychology Debunked newsletter!
Continuing our focus on ways we can improve our marriages, here is Commandment #2 of our "Ten Commandments of a Blessed Marriage:"
2. Pray persistently and read regularly. Pray for your spouse every day for blessings, protection, spiritual growth, and successful ministry. Pray together. Pray for God to help you fulfill your role as a spouse. Read the Bible together in the Spirit, focusing on how passages apply to you and not your spouse. Don’t just read it, but apply what you’ve read.
Jam 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Col 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Col 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Jhn 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
Jam 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
The more we pray and read together, the stronger our marriages will become. The Bible also teaches us to pray for all who are in authority, and that would include our federal, state and local governments. Pray for God to give our country's leaders wisdom and the desire and courage to do what is right. Pray that any evil plans they have to bankrupt America, take away our God-given freedoms, and control every facet of our society would come to nothing.
This month in the news, Eli Lilly again takes center stage with their greed and murder; more FDA warnings for antidepressants and ADHD drugs; animals and men alike go berzerk on psych drugs; and the legal drug cartel that kills 36,000 people a year in the name of mental health. Plus, don't miss the excellent video "Making a Killing," which exposes the shame and greed of the pharmaceutical industry.
We also continue Pastor Scott Johnson's pharmakeia series of audio sermons, and answer reader Q&As on fear and anxiety.
Praying for America with you,

These readers ask, "How do you handle fear and anxiety?" See our answer.
"He began talking to other sales representatives about the [Zyprexa illegal sales and marketing] issue, including Hector Rosado, another whistle-blower in the [Zyprexa] case. As he pondered what to do, Rudolph's son, then 15, provided a moment of clarity: "He came up to me and said, 'Dad, what's wrong is wrong.' I had taught my kids that. It was wrong, and I wanted to make it right."" --Robert Rudolph, former Zyprexa drug salesperson and whistleblower
"HTML clipboard"Judges should stop sealing documents that contain evidence of criminal conduct and important information on drug side effects… Documents produced in discovery often contain important health information that drug companies have hidden from the FDA." --Dr. David Egilman, expert witness in Zyprexa case
"Psychotropic drugs is a story of big money. These drugs fuel a $330-billion psychiatric industry, without a single cure -- and now kill an estimated 36,000 people every year, with the death toll still rising.
"It is bad enough to prescribe dangerous psychotropic drugs to adults, but some of the most targeted people are just barely out of diapers. In 2007 alone, half a million children and teenagers were given at least one prescription for an antipsychotic, including 20,500 under the age of 6."

"I know the answer to all my mental problems is in the bible and in prayer not WORLDLY DRUGS that alter your mind."
