Michael Jackson was on a Lethal Drug Cocktail

List of Psych Drugs Michael Jackson Was Taking

Sun Jun 28, 2009 5:20 pm (PDT)

When Michael died he was on a lethal cocktail of drugs. The deadly mix
included painkillers, anti-depressants, muscle relaxants and anti-anxiety
pills. The full list of drugs he was on were Vicodin, Dialudid, Xanax, Soma,
Prilosec, Paxil, Demerol and Zoloft.

It is thought the dad-of-three's breathing began to slow 40 minutes after he
was given the shot of Demerol.

The drug - nicknamed "health tonic" by Jacko and known as Pethidine in the
UK - is usually given to women in labour. In large doses it can stop
breathing. Within minutes of Jackson's dose, it is believed his breathing
became slower and slower. Dr Murray is believed to have hooked him up to a
heart monitor.

Fearing that Michael's heartbeat was becoming irregular, Dr Murray is said
to have then injected him in the arm with Lidocaine - a drug designed to
regulate heartbeat.

Michael is believed to have gone into respiratory arrest as his breathing
came to a stop and his heart failed.

Dr Murray's monitors registered a flatline - indicating that Michael's heart
had stopped.

In a desperate attempt to jump-start the singer's heart, Dr Murray carried
out mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and heart massage, which was revealed in
the tape of the 911 emergency call.

Unable to rouse the star, he then injected adrenaline directly into his
heart in a final bid to restart it.

It is normally injected into the arm but in extreme circumstances doctors
can inject it straight into the heart to give a patient the best possible
chance of survival.

The source said: "It was like a scene from Pulp Fiction, when John
Travolta's character Vincent Vega plunges a needle full of adrenaline into
the chest of Uma Thurman's Mia to revive her after a drugs overdose.

"A cardiologist with Dr Murray's experience would know exactly how to carry
this out."

The drama unfolded as paramedics were still racing to the Beverley Hills
home just after noon on Thursday after the alarm was raised by one of the
singer's aides.

They arrived on the scene and continued performing life-saving CPR on the
singer for nearly an hour.

After 45 minutes of manually pumping his heart, they wanted to pronounce the
singer dead - but Dr Murray insisted he be taken to hospital.

Some media reports have speculated the star also consumed, on a daily basis,
a shopping list of prescription drugs including painkillers,
anti-depressants, muscle relaxants and anti-anxiety tablets.

Friend, actor-singer Liza Minnelli, told reporters yesterday "all hell would
break loose" when the results of Jackson's autopsy are released.

Those close to Jackson say it had become clear that he was reliant on
painkillers as he prepared for a gruelling comeback.

The LA County Coroner's Office yesterday confirmed Jackson was a
prescription drug user, but could not say which drugs were present in his
system. That would be left for the toxicology reports, which would take four
to six weeks. But other sources said friends knew of up to nine medications
Jackson had taken in recent times.

New-age spiritual guru and close friend Deepak Chopra confirmed Jackson
suffered from an addiction to prescription drugs, including the painkillers
Demerol and Oxycontin.

"I think it (drug addiction) was responsible for his death, not just
contributed," he told CNN.

Jackson's cocktail of drugs is believed to have included:

. Demerol - a narcotic painkiller he received via injection three times a
day.

. Dilaudid - a morphine-based painkiller. He took a 3mg pill three times a
day.

. Vicodin - he had recently been prescribed this opiate, which is derived
from codeine.

. Oxycontin - a powerful opium-based painkiller.

. Soma - a muscle relaxant he took twice a day in 2mg tablets.

. Xanax - he took two 0.5mg tablets of this sedative twice a day.

. Zoloft - an anti-depressant that he took in 100mg doses.

. Paxil - another anti-depressant he took in 20mg pills.

. Prilosec - an over-the-counter heartburn medication.

Some medication was believed to help Jackson mask the aches and pains behind
injuries including a broken leg and broken vertebrae suffered after falling
off a stage, and pain suffered after his hair caught fire while filming a
commercial.

Other medication was believed to help him mask depression caused by child
abuse allegations, bad parenting and a withdrawal from the world. Excerpts
