greetings ~
It was nice to hear from you and I'll be glad to share an overview of what I spoke to these sisters regarding what the Lord created our minds for, etc.
It's been a while so I'll just give you the 'outline', which was establishing first that our minds were created BY God, FOR God - it's part of the way He communes with us and us with Him. It's HIS territory, not man's ! - I felt such a need to establish this because, as you well know, the church has been greatly polluted by psychobabble infiltration....to such a degree that most believers don't even know it (Next time I speak on this subject I want to point that out, even though it's always a point of contention because pride rears it's ugly head in wanting to defend such garbage).
Secondly, I went to the book of Job, who was given what we would all deem as good and wise counsel, yet it wasn't of the Lord, was it?!! So, there was counsel that appeared and sounded like holy and wise but still was WAY off from what was right in God's eyes (i.e. BAD counsel), then consider all the ungodly counsel we are barraged with today. I even question most of christian counselling, of course, because most of it is rooted first from psychology itself.
Thirdly, I just gave them a brief overall of the wickedness of a house being built but not by the Lord. (that house of psychology:), revealing that most of these men had never known the Lord, were aethiests or had turned away from the Lord years ago. I also revealed how several of them, while refusing to turn to Christ, then went onto embrace mystics and a lot of other strange phenomena in addition to the psychology.
Finally, I used scripture (I believe from Psalms...) and we looked into the verses, identifying the attributes of God found in them as to how He is our Good and Holy counselor line by line. These sisters are not hard to speak to :) I can't say that's the situation with most of the population in the churches these days, though.
I'd love to hear from you as to if/what the Lord is bringing to your understanding in any areas that you don't mention in your email newsletter. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed in my spirit by the deceptions that are blanketing the church. As much from the pulpit as from the pews...
